My CrossFit Story: Sports and outdoor activities have always been a part of my life – what I love to do. After college, I quickly realized my days of competitive sports as I knew them were over and finding reliable training partners to keep me motivated at the gym were disappearing fast… then I was introduced to CrossFit. I admit, I wasn’t instantly sold but after finding CFM that changed quickly. Within a few quick months I went from using CF as a supplement to normal days in the gym to realizing I wanted CF to be a part of my daily routine. Over the last 3 years I have seen CF change my body in so many incredible ways; I have hiked mountains without the need to consider altitude or oxygen deprivation (thanks for all those Metcons Travis), gone back country backpacking without ever worrying about carrying my pack and tackled more home improvement projects than I would have ever had the capacity for prior. In short, CF has allowed me to live the life I want to live and do the things I love to do. Sure, PR’s are nice but I do CF to be a better ME. That is also what I have found so rewarding about coaching – not seeing an athlete increase weight on a lift or score faster on a WOD but realizing that this is 100% going to improve their quality of life.
